A First for Hallie

Hallie is 3 years 3 months (almost) old...and she had her very first haircut Thursday, May 20th.  It was time.  Her hair was kind of wild!  Ha!  And it is absolutely precious right now.  We went to The Mane Event and had a wonderful experience!  Hallie had so much fun with her first haircut experience and her hair looks SO much better--absolutely precious.  Miss Sheryl (who cut Hallie's hair) just trimmed the very back...Hallie no longer has a baby mullet.  Ha!  And as the sides grow out more, we'll go back and get it all evened up.  It's amazing how much better Hallie's hair looks.  It's not stringy anymore--yay!  And her little curls in the back are sweet and bouncy.

Jonathan took this picture on Wednesday.  When I saw it, I said, "Wow...Hallie needs a haircut!  Let's go tomorrow!"  He agreed.  She still has the sweetest little face...she just had some WILD hair! :o)

The first snip!

Look how relaxed Hallie looks!  She thought she was a princess sitting so tall in that chair!  It was so cute!

Hallie loved watching in the big mirror!

Look at that face! :o)
Miss Sheryl asked Hallie if she wanted her hair curly or straight.  Hallie told her straight!  Lol!  It looks much better curly, though.  But it was fun for her to get her hair brushed and blown dry. :o)

Sweet girl!

Hallie and Miss Sheryl--she was wonderful for Hallie's first cut, and we'll be going back to her for future cuts!

Ballet 2010

Our little ballerina had her very first dance recital yesterday! She was beautiful! Jonathan took video of her performance, so hopefully I can get that uploaded soon! I took a few pictures during the performance. None were great, but at least I got a few. She was SUCH a big girl to walk backstage with her little ballet group and then perform! All the groups waited in the balcony of Waco Hall (gorgeous venue, by the way!) during the other performances (Hallie's group was #2). I expected Hallie to get bored after a while, but she was happy to watch all the other performers; only getting a little antsy now and then. I also came with lots of snacks. :o) After everyone performed, all the groups went back on stage for a last bow. It was precious! All the girls also got little dance medals. Very sweet. While the organization of the performance was not up to par (in my opinion), I know Hallie couldn't be with sweeter people. Mrs. Korpi welcomed everyone at the beginning and then had the pastor of a local church begin the performance with a beautiful prayer of blessing on the dancers. Precious. I know Hallie is in good hands at Mrs. Korpi's. I'm not sure that this is where she'll grow up dancing, but it's exactly where she needs to be right now. :o)

My little ballerina!

Hallie is on the end...they're dancing with their little ballerina babies. :o)

Show Us Your Life--Baby Names

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

It's Show Us Your Life--Baby Names over at Kelly's Korner! I love baby names...always have. When I was younger, my friend Mandi and I used to make up some doozies! I believe one of my babies was "Chastinee Desiree". LOL. The more obnoxious spelling, the better! Thankfully, we both outgrew that! :o)

Hallie Shea

This little girl has been such a blessing to me! Before we learned she was a girl, we were certain we were having a boy (lots of boys on my husband's side of the family)...so we figured she'd be Jackson Paul. We were thrilled to find out we were having a little girl!

For as long as I can remember, I have loved the name "Hallie". I preferred the spelling "Hally", but the Hubs put his foot down. Ha! Actually, for a while we were going to name her Lindley because we just couldn't agree on the spelling and it was becoming quite stressful. We were going to name her Lindley Gayle (Gayle is my mom's middle name). But I finally agreed on the "ie" spelling. lol.

Hallie's name honors my maternal grandmother. Her name was Hattie. I have always loved that name...just cute. And my Nana was one incredible lady! But my mother didn't really want that name for for a grand-daughter for many reasons ...even though I knew I'd be honoring my mom, I knew it would just daily remind her of her own mother. So many years ago (before I was even married), I decided that I would simply uncross the t's in Hattie...and voila--Hallie! We were undecided about a middle name. I always loved Hallie Ruth (my grandmother's sister's name), but the Hubs wasn't crazy about that name. So we went with my middle name, Shea. I've always loved my middle name and thought it was neat to pass it on. Hallie's name fits her perfectly! :o)

Other names I love:
1. Audrey Claire (Hubs doesn't like Claire)
2. Lindley Elizabeth
3. Anna Hollis (Hubs probably doesn't like that--ha!)
4. Mollie Elizabeth

Boy Names:
1. Andrew Paul
2. Carter David

I just don't have that many boy names! LOL!
