Golfing

Jonathan and Hallie had a sweet little daddy-daughter date last night...they went golfing. :o)  Jonathan played golf with some guys from work earlier this week, and Hallie became extremely interested in golf.  Jonathan got her a cute little pink club and some pink practice balls.  And every day she has "practiced golf" in our living room floor.  So last night, Jonathan and Hallie braved the 100 degree temps and headed out to play Putt-Putt.  Due to the heat and being 37 weeks pregnant, I stayed at home and watched the extremely odd opening ceremonies for the Olympics. :o)

Hallie loved playing Putt-Putt and even "golfed it in one" (lol--she got a hole in one)!  She was very proud of herself.  After golfing, she even talked Daddy into a few rides at Lion's Park Kiddie Land.  I think they had a wonderful daddy-daughter date!  Hallie is extremely blessed to have such a sweet daddy who will share these little times with her!

Look at that concentration! :o)

Hallie loves the little ferris wheel at Kiddie Land!

And the carousel!

I tried to snap a picture when they returned...Hallie was being goofy.  Of course.  Ha!

She even talked Daddy into a snow cone! :o)

I'm sure there will be many more daddy-daughter dates in their future! :o)

Whew!

You're about to experience BUO...Blog Update Overload.  I'm warning you--lots of pictures and lots of "blah blah blah".  We had a busy end of May...a busy first of June.  My parents came for a week...Hallie and I went back to Alabama with them for two weeks and then Jonathan came out for an extra week (so we were in Alabama for THREE weeks)!  It was a wonderfully relaxing vacation...our last as a family of three.  It's definitely nice to be back home and sleep in my own bed and shower in my own shower.  But I definitely miss my parents.  Of course, with the upcoming arrival of sweet Harper (who'll be here before we know it...but hopefully not before my next blog update), my parents will be out for a visit again soon! :o)

Enjoy the updates.  Or just completely ignore them if you want. :o)

I-20 West

Well, all good things must come to an end.  After our traditional farewell breakfast at IHOP with Nonna and Pop, we headed back to Texas.  Being three more weeks pregnant, the stops along the way were a little more frequent, but I had a very patient husband!  He even stopped for the night when I simply couldn't tolerate the ride any longer.  Along the way, we stopped in Jackson, MS at a quaint little bookstore a friend of Jonathan's recommended.  Lemuria Books is such a neat little bookstore.  It's located in a three story building with lots of character. The bookstore has the sweetest little children's section called Oz.  Hallie loved it...picked out three books and was thrilled to find out she got a special bookmark!

Way Too Long

My best-friend-since-kindergarten, Kyetra, came to Alabama.  It has been a couple of years since we've gotten to see each other.  Way too long.  But Kyetra is just another one of those friends that is just always a friend, and we pick up right where we left off.  We chatted, told stories, caught up, looked through old yearbooks trying to figure out who different people were who sent us Facebook friend requests (which if you have to think that hard about who someone is, you should probably just ignore the friend request, right?).  Anyway, Kyetra came with two cute little hooligans in tow--her son, Taft, and her niece, Mallory.  So while Kyetra and I chatted, Taft, Mallory, and Hallie entertained themselves. :o)

Before they left, we snapped a few pictures together (well, Jonathan took them) and promised not to wait two years (or more?!) in between visits.

Who has the cheesiest smile?

Friends for 30 years! :o)

Fireworks and Sparklers

We had one of the most wonderfully relaxing Fourth of July holidays ever!  It was blissfully spent with old friends--the Harrises.  Mr. and Mr. Harris have been long-time friends.  And it just worked out for us to spend the Fourth together.  There was lots of chit-chat, laughter, watermelon (oh, way too much watermelon), good food, swimming, and just good times all around!  I think this should become a wonderful tradition! :o)

Oh my word!  The cuteness of these two is amazing!

Sweet Cailin!  Goodness I wish I saw this little girl more often!

Hallie...and the iPod.  We're having to go through some iPod detox after being in Alabama for three weeks!  Ha!

The two Pops...

I just realized I didn't get a picture of Nonna & GaGa.  Shoot!

Sweet girls playing.

Again with these two! :o)  So cute!

Sweet friends!  Sure do wish I got to see her more than a few times a year!  But it never fails, we just pick up right where we left off!  Love you, Mandi!

After the Harrises left, we headed to Oxford for some fireworks.  Then Hallie got her own private firework show given by Daddy. :o)
