Fun at the Zoo with Abby and Hallie-Lou!

We enjoyed a (hot) afternoon at the Cameron Park Zoo. Abby and Hallie enjoyed seeing all the animals! Abby and Hallie both walked a while and rode a while. It was a fun afternoon for everyone!

Too much fun!

My (Kendra) parents arrived with our niece, Abby, in the wee hours Tuesday morning (1:30 am!). The fun with cousins began around 8:30 yesterday morning. Hallie has absolutely loved playing with Abby! Hallie used to be my shadow...but until Abby goes back home, I believe Hallie will be Abby's shadow! Hallie follows Abby everywhere and tries to do everything she does. It is absolutely precious!

Yesterday we had Hallie's 15 month check up--she's a healthy little girl who is growing like a weed! She's going through a little separation/stranger anxiety, so this visit was not fun at all. She did not enjoy the doctor poking at her one bit! Thankfully the visit didn't last too long. Afterward, we had Chick-fil-A, so that cheered her up! She and Abby played and played on the little playground. All that playing called for a nap (for both girls!). :o) We ate dinner with Jonathan's parents last night and ended the day the best way possible--at Baskin Robbins!

Today our plans are to go to the zoo...but the girls have been playing so hard this morning, Hallie pooped out before everyone even got dressed. So, the zoo will be an afternoon trip.

Hallie loves trying on shoes!

Sweet Abby

Too cute!

These shoes are just a little too big.

Friday Fun at the Pool

Grammy came for a visit yesterday afternoon, so we played in the pool! When Daddy got home from work, he joined us and Hallie had so much fun jumping off the side. She is very brave! She loves jumping in and loves going to the pool. I'm definitely glad we have the pool to get relief from these hot temps!

Hallie Update

Hallie is feeling so much better lately! Thankfully her fever broke and the rash went away. We made a visit to our new pediatrician this past Tuesday and he said he had seen this same scenario on other kids so far this summer. He called it a "summer virus". Strange. Nonetheless, the fever did go away as did the rash, so for that we are tremendously thankful! Now we're just dealing with teething--Hallie is getting her one year molars. Fun times.

On a happier note, Hallie and I spent some time at the pool yesterday. The weather was beautiful and it was great that we were all feeling well enough to get out of the apartment! Hallie has turned into a water baby (we'll see if that remains). She loved floating around in her little ladybug float and then thought she'd be brave and play in the kiddie part of the pool. After that she wanted me to swim her out to the lions--there are lion heads all around the pool that spout out water. She LOVES them! If that wasn't enough, she took to climbing (sort of) up the ladder and then walking around to the side of the pool to jump into my arms. She did this over and over and over again! I was amazed. After doing this multiple times, she wasn't even waiting to make sure I was ready--which I always, thankfully, was! She had so much fun. We hope Daddy gets to enjoy some of that fun this weekend! :o) I would love to have a video of her jumping into the pool...but that's kinda hard when you're the one doing the catching. So hopefully soon! :o)

Thanks to all of you who prayed Hallie (and the rest of us) would feel better soon! Much love!!

More pictures

These are a few of my favorites that didn't get posted with the other 15 month pictures. I love the determination Hallie has in getting up that little step. My absolute favorite is the one with her little tush in the air b/c it just makes me think "yeah, we all have days like that sometimes!". haha. I mentioned before that Hallie was more than slightly under the weather for this little photo shoot and I know you couldn't really get the "whole picture" of how grumpy she was since most of the shots were of her walking away (hence the grumpy side of her) or of her on the go. The picture of her holding the leaf was before we got the other great shots. She was holding a bracelet that she did not want to let go of (I think it's in a few of the other shots actually). The leaf was supposed to be a trade for the bracelet and pacifier...it didn't work.

A little behind...

Again...I'm behind in blogging...and cleaning, and laundry...should I go on? Jonathan had a stomach bug last week, so while he stayed home from work, Hallie and I tried to stay out of the apartment. That lead Hallie and me to spend the night with Gramps and Grammy on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning Hallie awoke with a stuffy (yet occasionally runny) nose. We contributed it to teething as she's "cutting" her one year molars and chewing on everything. Thursday rolls around and she's acting a little sluggish and is a little more clingy than usual. Friday morning she sleeps until 10:15--very rare! She usually wakes up around 8:00. From around 8:00 until 10:15, she was very whiny and restless but never actually woke up until 10:15. When I got her out of bed she was burning up. I took her temp--almost 102. I gave her some Infant Tylenol and snuggled her. I was starting to feel a little icky myself, so Grammy had already said she'd take Hallie for the afternoon. Hallie napped at Grammy's house while I got some rest myself. When Jonathan and I picked Hallie up, she had broken out in a red, spotty, slightly bumpy rash from her head to her feet. And the fever was still lingering, although not as high as before. We thought maybe the rash was just prickly heat b/c it has been so hot here. Saturday morning brought much of the same--a low grade fever, but the rash had worsened. Father's Day was spent with a very whiny 15 month old...and understandably so--she just didn't feel well.

Needless to say, we knew we needed to take her to the doctor at this point. Don't things like this always worsen on the weekends? Hallie has a doctor's appointment today at 2:00...and hopefully we'll have an answer to the fever and rash.

Once everyone is well, I will do my best to catch all five of you up on what's been going on in the wonderful world of Hallie Shea! :o) She is so much fun all the time...and absolutely into everything! She is trying so hard to talk and really does a great job at communicating her needs to Jonathan and me. There aren't many times that she gets frustrated b/c we can't figure out what she wants. She has added a new "sign" to her repertoire--"all done" (flipping her hands from palms up to palms down)...so that has helped in the high chair battle!

Many hugs to you all!

Four Years

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband. I am married to the kindest, sweetest, most loving man I could ever imagine being married to! He is my heart and I love him to pieces! He is a strong man in the Lord and a strong man to put up with me day after day! When I prayed for my husband, God knew exactly who I would need--someone who could let me whine and complain, but then tell me when enough was enough. Of course in the past four years we've not been without argument, disappointment, or hurt...but I know our love for each other will carry us through another four years...and another four years, and so on!

I love you, Jonathan!

Playing Catch Up...

This is what Hallie has been up to the past week...

Praying at mealtimes--she loves this!

Reading lots of books
(again...she took a
break from sitting still long enough to hear
any story for a while...but now she can't
get enough of books!)

Taking her baby out for an afternoon stroll

Playing on the playground

Helping Daddy out with his work

Now, there are even more things that I didn't capture on camera. For exampe: coloring on the walls with a yellow colored pencil (at least it was yellow!), playing on her Kangaroo Climber every day, several times a day, trying so hard to master "uh-oh" (sometimes we get it, but often it's still "uh-ahhhh"--with a long pause b/n the two words), and just plain out being cute!

Welcome, Taft!

Congratulations are in order for my "very best friend since kindergarten", Kyetra...along with her hubby, Shane! They welcomed their first baby into the world on June 2nd! Little Taft joined us weighing 7 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches long. As you can tell from the family picture below, I believe everyone is absolutely thrilled!
